Added the final part....second movement. This completes the work.

    2. Andante Cantabile (posted Feb 20th, 2017)

    Added the 3rd movement (rondo):

    3. Allegro con moto (posted Feb 6th, 2017) I have to write the second movement now which will be in Bb.

New composition I have been wanting to work on for some time now...a concerto for 3 flutes. Here is the first movement:

    1. Allegro con brio

VSL Special Eds. 1 and 2.

  • As always its amazing what you get out of the Special Editions,  Its Your natural Talent with another lovely Piece. I wonder will you Upgrade to a bigger Library  ?

    Regards

  • Thank you kindly. I am saving up for Dimension Strings and Vienna Instruments Pro... I think both will suit my music well. Dimension Strings is a bit pricy for a hobbyist but..... someday soon I hope.

  • If You would make a Tutorial Series on How to create a Symphony I would buy that, You never think in that direction on making some Tutorials ?

I highly recommend Vienna Instruments Pro. Your pieces are excellent as is, but the humanization features of VI Pro would very substantially improve your work with very little additional expense (or effort).

This movement is charming. Your skills working with the Classical Aesthetic seem to be steadily improving. I listened carefully and could not detect by ear any inconsistencies or anachronisms. It is particularly remarkable that you accomplished this using only the Special Editions. Congratulations!

Have you looked at the book "Harmony in Haydn and Mozart" by David Damschroder? I have the Damschroder "Harmony in Beethoven" which I am currently reading and so far, I can recommend it. His Haydn and Mozart book seems a natural for your interests. I also have his book on Schubert, but I do not recommend that title.

I look forward to listening to your next creation.

    Paul T. McGraw

  • Thanks Paul. I am not familiar with the Damschroder Harmony books you mention... I most certainly will check out both the Beethoven and the Haydn/Mozart books...sounds fascinating as I love my collection of reference books. Thank you again.

  • Wayne, this sounds excellent!  I like your purist classical approach.  You need to release a complete works CD collection.  What is it numbering now?  Mine is about 10.

I recently noted the complete CDs of Mozart - numbering 200.  Nothing repeated.  This is for someone who died at 35?  That is just insane.    Today's rock "stars" strut around thinking they are so awesome with their 14 cds.  And they write 3 minute songs for four players and think they are gods.  But Mozart is only one of the maniac composers -  Haydn is 150 cds.  Bach 155.  They wrote cantatas, sinfonias, symphonies, operas, oratorios,  octets, etc.  But think of it - they died fairly old and Mozart?  He  just dashed off music about every minute of his existence.  And it was all good.  That is scary.

O.K. - I need to get to work!    Bye for now.  I try to write in again at CD 200.

    200 is definitly a lot,

if I would create CD's from my 112 hours recordings that are online, I would reach currently (after being online with klassik-resampled since 7-8 Years) only 90 😢 (if each CD will contain 74 min music) and most of the music is even not composed by myself.

Oh Lord, why am I that unproductive all the day ?!

Presumably Mozart have had even better vienna samples than I do. So please VSL work hard to inspire me more for the missing 110 CD's of music made with samples.😉

  • Excellent work Mr Peppercorn.

I liked the composition and rendering, The woodwinds sound very chirpy, a nice romantic touch for an otherwise classical sounding piece.

Did you do something to the way you produce your music? because it sounds to me more realistic than some of your previous posts which I have mentioned about.

    Anand

  • Hi Anand,

No, same technique as before but I maybe I am learning as I go (especially w/ strings). I am spending more time with the expressions and articulations...anyway, thanks a lot...I do appreciate you noticing. I can't wait to purchase the Pro Instrument interface and Dimension strings...I think both will work well with my music. Thanks.

  • Thanks William. I don't know where it will all end but as long as the melodies keep popping up in our heads, we just need to continue to write.

3rd movement (rondo) to the triple flute concerto: Feb 6th, 2017

    3. Allegro con moto

  • Nice work here Mr. Peppercorn, very Haydnesque if I may be so bold.

I don't have much else to add what everybody else has already said other than you should consider sending this and much of your other work to Herb for demo consideration.

What's especially striking about your work here is that it was all done with the Special Editions.  Now if I were contemplating buying the Special Editions and I heard your compositions as demos I would definately be sold.  I would say, "Wow! I can do this with these samples?  Where's my credit card?"

  • I have thought the same thing - it is very impressive that these are done without VI Pro or full versions and they would be great demos for the Special Edition.

  • Hi Wayne,

I've just finished listening to your flute concerto. As usual, great work. Almost all superlatives have been transmited by other members and I can only agree with them. Very beautiful, polished orchestral sound, well equilibrated and rendered. A special applause for the flute parts. Being a flutist myself, I really appreciate the way you've handled the instruments. Not very challenging in technique, but so fine and musical in a ideal conversation with the orchestra. Old school concerto technique, but of the better sort.

And yes, using the SE libraries to achieve such richness in both sound and articulations is worth a demo. It would be a very convincing to persuade people in dubio to buy these libraries.

Sorry for being late with my comment, but I'm very busy now working on a new composition about a fictive hero that has (would have) played a critical role in the history of my country. It could be descripive music, but it isn't, rather suggestive... I'm trying to use all the necessary articulations for all the 36 parts and it is a hell of a job! Now I do admire your skills even more and your huge productivity. I almost can't believe it...

Many congrats with your new achievement!
