+1 You guys really did "save the day" for us orch DP users and right on time too. All is good again in the DP/OSX universe. I was getting really discouraged that the great DP was stuck with AU and Apple's whim, and almost nobody coded for MAS. Cubase and it's 32 port VST3 was really looking tempting. AU was a savior for DP for many years, but with VEP being a major part of my workflow AU was not cutting it.
I suggested to MOTU that they consider supporting the VST3 plugin format, I knew they wouldn't - all so I could run VEP with midi ports.
Because of you guys I don't have to switch to Cubase on a PC!!! I need to love the tools I use to want to work with them. It's the asthetics. In fact I'm so happy about the MAS version of VEP I went and picked up a 12-core MacPro (!) today for a slave. I'm about to aquire a bunch of VSL Brass libs next week via license transfer. And Dimenssion Brass and Strings are next for sure. I'm very happy with VSL right now if you can't tell!
One question. When connecting two computers for VEP via Ethernet do I need a crossover cable, a switch or a particular type of cable (Cat 5)? At what point does gigabit start to bog down or start to drop voices? That's something I'd like to avoid in my new dual setup.
Thanks,
Steve Steele
