Cymbals and Tam-Tams
The piatti come in sizes from 11" to 22". Suspended cymbals of various forms and sound characteristics are available from 6" to 22", including ride cymbals, crash cymbals, splash cymbals, China cymbals, and sizzle cymbals. Their distinctive, piercing sound is easily heard over a full fortissimo-playing orchestra. The tam-tams of different sizes (25 to 130 cm diameter) were recorded not only with single hits and different beaters, but also offer tremolos and scratches.
