Vienna Ensemble 7 File Structure

File Formats and information display

Vienna Ensemble Project (*.vep)

You can save and open separate Vienna Ensemble Projects using the icons in the task bar or by using the Instance menu in Vienna Ensemble.

The saved files are called projects and are saved as .vep64 files. .vep stands for "Vienna Ensemble Project". A Vienna Ensemble Project (.vep) contains all information saved in a single Vienna Ensemble instance! When loading a project (*.vep file), the file name will be displayed in your Vienna Ensemble Instance Window Title (in this case: "Strings_Basics"):

Each Vienna Ensemble Instance is represented by one tab, and the selected instance is highlighted with a small white frame. You can label an instance with a double-click on the tab. The Vienna Ensemble Service Instance Tab as well as the Vienna Ensemble Service Interface plug-in in your sequencer will display the same instance name.

Merging existing VE projects (*.vep files)

To accelerate the creation of your new templates, you can use the MERGE function in Vienna Ensemble's FILE menu.
