Icons are supposed to be mostly self-explanatory. However, some of MIR Pro 3D’s concepts are not so easy to convey in a rather restricted area. Many of these buttons consist of an Instrument icon and the stylized representation of a cardioid microphone. They are of course equipped with pop-up hints. Nevertheless, here’s a list with explanations.
- 3D Controls: opens a pop-up message with 3D navigation commands for the Venue.
- HotSpots: toggles highlighting of the Venue’s HotSpots.
- Grid: a 1x1 m grid overlay to facilitate setting distances on the stage.
- Titles: display the names of all Instruments –crowded stages it might look better without them.
- Follow: if activated, whenever you select an Instrument in the right-hand Instrument list, the Venue view focusses on that Instrument. – Will not work if the Instrument was already selected.
- Find in Venue: focusses on the selected Instrument. Makes most sense when “Follow” is inactive.
- Set Natural Volume: sets the Instrument’s volume to that defined in its Instrument Profile. If the volume is changed, the button turns dark again.
- Aim at Main Mic: when activated, the instrument will automatically change direction to align with the position of the Main Microphone. Original direction information is kept and retrieved at deactivation.
- Directivity Profile: enables / disables the Directivity Profile for the dry signal. Off by default.
- Air Absorption Filter: takes into account the influence of air absorption on the instrument.
- Distance Dependent Volume Scaling: takes into account the influence of distance on the instrument.
- Consider Mic Offset: if Volume Scaling is on, this option can also be activated.
